Event Description:
Learn how to can and preserve some of the local, seasonal bounty which surrounds us at this time of the year. Participants in this hands-on workshop with Caitlin Dorward will learn safe techniques using the boiling water bath method, and will be able to take home a jar or two of what we make.
Cost: Suggested donation $25, plus $6 materials fee. No one turned away for lack of funds.

A Greenest City Series workshop presented by Village Vancouver in partnership with Vancouver Public Library (Terry Salman Branch).
Do you want to start saving your own seeds? In this workshop Mel Sylvestre will provide you with the knowledge needed to understand the basic principles behind seed saving and the skills necessary to begin seed saving. It will also allow you to develop an understanding of basic plants reproduction biology and to learn the vocabulary of the seed saving world. The theory will be complemented by hands-on techniques and demonstrations.
