Christian is interested in environmentally oriented economic and community development in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. He began managing the CEED Centre in August 2004. His UBC degrees include a BA in International Relations and Japanese, and an MBA
.
Christian had an 18-year career in investor relations and Japanese translation, founding and leading a translation agency and a building products purchasing agency along the way.
Christian's deep interest in food security prompted him to start Alouette Growers, an online farm market operated as a social enterprise. He is the former chair of the Maple Ridge Agricultural Advisory Committee (6 years) and worked briefly as a community developer in the food security program of a health authority. He also served for a year on the certification committee of the BC Association for Regenerative Agriculture, an organic certification organization. He raises poultry and vegetable crops with his family on their hobby farm in East Maple Ridge.
In the community, he is a founding director of the Golden Ears Transition Initiative Society and a member of Maple Ridge Climate Hub, ARMS and the Maple Ridge Historical Society.
Christian participates in the following groups, committees and advisory boards on behalf of the CEED Centre Society.
