Mentor Application

Calling all mentorship training session attendees! Now that you've attended the initial training, you're eligible to apply to be a Blue Door mentor. The application does require you to answer personal questions that will help us as we match you with a youth.

Once you complete the application and submit a clear criminal record check, we will begin the matching process - at this point we may ask you to come in and meet with us. The application will also require you to identify which stream of mentorship you are interested in (outlined below):

• Primary Mentor -- Minimum 4 hours/month

• Team Mentor -- Minimum 1 hour/month (will work with a youth's primary mentor)

• Session Mentor -- For adults that have a special skill set or knowledge base, a session mentor will facilitate a workshop that is open to youth and their mentors. A session mentor makes a commitment to lead at least 1 workshop within a year.

Application Checklist

• Attend a mentor training session at the CEED Centre Neighbourhood House (email for upcoming date/time)

• Complete the mentorship application and submit an online application form (primary and team mentors can scroll down to find the form, sessional mentors can click here to apply)

• Apply for a free, online Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Search) by visiting https://justice.gov.bc.ca/eCRC/home.htm and using the access code that was emailed to you after the training session. Please note that the results will come directly to the CEED Centre Society.

• Wait for a call or email from our staff who will arrange an individual interview time for you to come in and talk about your fit with the program
