Tue. Oct 15 - Health & Wellness Day 11-1 pm at the Caring Place
Wed. Oct 16 - Maple Ridge has Talent 7pm at the Caring Place
Thu. Oct 17 - "Something to Eat, A Place to Sleep, and Someone Who Gives a Damn" a free movie and discussion panel at 7 pm in the city chambers (city hall)
Fri. Oct 18 - Taste of the World luncheon for all! 11:30-1 pm at the ACT Theatre lobby
Fri. Oct 18 - Spa Day 10-2 pm at the Caring Place
Join us at one of these events and learn more about homelessness in your community and how to stop it.
Recent research in Canada by Stephen Gaetz suggests that it costs us more to manage people on the street and in homeless shelters than it does to house and support them. Housing and supporting them results in better outcomes for the people who find themselves without homes while freeing up much needed resources for others. It is a win-win situation. Let's make our voices heard and start putting our resources where they provide the most benefits. Let's start this week.
