On Saturday, May 3, 2025, the CEED Centre will host a Children's Day Festival at the CEED Centre Neighbourhood House and Beckett Park. The Festival will celebrate Japanese Canadian culture with traditional crafts and family oriented activities, like Koi Nobori streamer making, origami and Japanese calligraphy.
This year the Festival will also serve to inaugurate a permanent exhibit at the Centre called 'Seiko Udoku,' "Remembering the Lost Legacy of the Japanese Canadian Farming Community in Maple Ridge." The inauguration ceremony will commence at 10:30, while the festival runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. A taiko drum performance will feature the duo NoriNori and Komori.
